M.A.R.S. (Mid-Atlantic Regional School of Professional Photography)
MARS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit PPA Affiliate School, offering five days of intense training in photography, in an intimate, boutique environment. Our goal is to provide students with an outstanding experience in education and friendship, where small class size provides relatively personal instruction.
The overall MARS experience is unique, and the end result is unlike any other event. At MARS, you’ll learn in an environment of other photographers just as passionate as you, who want to take their image-making and business skills to the next level. And the friendly atmosphere allows everyone to feel unintimidated to ask questions. The experience gained at MARS will allow you to take what you’ve learned and implement techniques and ideas into your own practices.
The school is held in beautiful Cape May, New Jersey, an historic landmark with miles of beautiful beaches, Victorian homes, and other gorgeous photo-op locations. And since Cape May is located on the peninsula at the southern-most tip of New Jersey, you get the rare opportunity to photograph both sunrise and sunset (conditions permitting).
Students and instructors stay at the full-service Grand Hotel, located directly across from the sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean. The atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and friendly and promotes making new friends and networking with others. Students come from all over the country, and each person brings their interests and backgrounds to create an eclectic group of like-minded individuals.
Classes are also held in the hotel and have limited enrollment, so you are assured an exceptional learning experience at this price. Talking one-on-one with your instructor, and getting to know your classmates, is incomparable.
Some of the world’s most respected photographers and instructors come to teach at MARS. They’ll share life experiences and lessons learned during this weeklong symposium that will leave attendees inspired and ready to put their newfound knowledge to use.
